Not necessarily. The whole result is marked inconclusive only when photo quality issues (focus, angle, lighting, how large your face is in the frame) prevent us from reliably measuring proportions. This service is built to honestly say “we don't know” rather than invent a plausible-looking number, so it's almost always about the photo conditions, not your face.

Facing the camera directly, using even shadow-free lighting, and using a sharp photo will reduce how often this happens. Note that hair or glasses covering your features is not what triggers an inconclusive result — it can instead produce an inaccurate number without any warning, so we still recommend avoiding it. The exact conditions are all disclosed under “When does a result get marked inconclusive” on the evaluation criteria page.

The proportions themselves (eye size, jawline angle, and so on) are always measured the exact same way regardless of gender. What differs is the baseline used to convert those measurements into a score, since the aesthetic standards in common use differ by gender — gender only comes into play at the scoring step. The measured values themselves are never altered.

Your uploaded photo is never sent to a server in the first place. Face detection and measurement happen entirely in your browser, so neither the photo nor the numbers computed from it ever leave your device. The photo you see on the result screen is just held temporarily in your browser session, and it disappears when you close the tab. Full details are in the privacy policy.

There's no usage limit — it's free to use. Analysis runs entirely in your browser, so there's no per-photo API cost and, unlike before, no traffic-driven cost constraint either.

This service's core result is not physiognomy — it's the geometric proportions measured from your photo (eye size, jawline angle, and so on) compared against a baseline. A physiognomy-style reading, which applies your already-measured values to traditional East Asian face-reading lore purely for fun, is offered separately on its own page.
