From a single photo, we measure geometric ratios across seven areas and score how far they are from the reference proportions for your selected sex (this shows distance from a conventional baseline, not a judgment of attractiveness). When a feature can't be measured reliably, we mark it "inconclusive" instead of making up a number.

Scores are converted against the reference proportions commonly used for the selected sex. The raw measurements themselves are identical regardless of sex.

How is this different from other face-rating sites

Most face-rating services just have a model look at your photo and hand back a score with a general impression. This site geometrically measures seven areas (overall proportion, symmetry, eyes, eyebrows, nose, mouth, and contour) and shows you those raw measurements right on the result screen. Exactly which ratios are measured, how, and how many points each is worth is disclosed in full on the evaluation criteria page. It's also a different approach from physiognomy (personality/fortune readings from facial features) — the exact differences are laid out at the top of the evaluation criteria page.

Why do we show inconclusive results

When a photo's focus, angle, lighting, or resolution keeps us from reliably measuring a given feature, we mark it “inconclusive” instead of inventing a number, and exclude its point value from the total. Rather than filling in a plausible-looking guess, we chose to say plainly when something can't be measured. The exact conditions that trigger this are covered in the FAQ.
